Google Voice Goes Global

Image
Google Voice is trending on news that it is now available outside the United States, in 38 languages. Launched in the United States in 2010, Google Voice allows users to redirect calls to their cellphones, landlines, and Gmail from a Web-based application with a familiar interface. Google Voice has no connection fee and customers simply pay for the time they actually use. Domestic and outbound calls to the United States and Canada are currently free. To promote the new international calling, Google is lowering calling rates to more than 150 destinations, in hopes of cutting into the market share of Skype, still the industry leader in computer-based calls. ~ By Slatester on Aug 3, 2011 Tweet
