William F. Buckley, Jr. 27 Feb 2008 20:46 Africa/Lagos Newt Gingrich Statement on the Passing of William F. Buckley, Jr . WASHINGTON, Feb. 27 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Before there was Goldwater or Reagan, there was Bill Buckley. From writing books, to creating, leading and sustaining National Review Magazine, to his 33-year run as the host of Firing Line on television, Bill Buckley became the indispensable intellectual advocate from whose energy, intelligence, wit, and enthusiasm the best of modern conservatism drew its inspiration and encouragement. It was not until William F. Buckley, Jr., founded National Review Magazine in 1955 that the tide began to slowly turn for conservatives. National Review was a lonely voice of conservatism in an overwhelmingly liberal establishment. Buckley began what led to Senator Barry Goldwater and his Conscience of a Conservative that led to the seizing of power by the conservatives from the moderate establishment within the Republican Party. Senators Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama Miss Key Health Issue in Debate

27 Feb 2008 04:24 Africa/Lagos Democratic Candidates Miss Key Health Issue in Debate Candidates Are Ignoring the Fight Against Cancer CLEVELAND, Feb. 26 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Senators Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama took the stage for a final debate before the March 4 primaries. The candidates addressed many troubling matters important to the American public but fell short on a critical health issue -- breast cancer. Breast cancer is an issue identified by 62 percent of Americans as the key health issue facing women today. (Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20070122/NYM084LOGO) "Senators Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama gave us a wide-ranging and informative discussion of issues important to all Americans," said Diane Balma, head of Susan G. Komen for the Cure Advocacy Alliance. "But we are disappointed that breast cancer, which takes the lives of almost 2,000 women in Ohio each year, was not even mentioned during the debate. In fact, Ohio ranks four...

LA Debate: Hugs, Smiles, Laughs, Celebs, and a Defining Moment on Iraq

"The Kodak Theater gave us a Kodak moment -- a post debate embrace that included beaming smiles -- that transcended the two hours of talking that preceded it. This was the first time the two leading candidates were alone on the stage, and the first time that you could see the two of them running together. The whole evening - save for a pointed exchange on Iraq -- had that vibe." ~ Arianna Huffington Arianna, Thank you for your beautiful and yet truthful analysis of the last Democratic Presidential Debate. Whether Barack Obama was against the war from day one and Hillary Clinton voted for the authorization of the last resort by military action is not the most important question before us. The most important questions is, when are the American troops returning to the safety of their American homeland? It is not who starts the war that matters, but who can end it. Senator Barack Obama has not told us how he is going to end the war. He has not given us any plan on how to end the ...

Re: Oprah Winfrey, Bill Clinton Bring Star Power to Iowa

When I read the report on "Oprah Winfrey, Bill Clinton Bring Star Power to Iowa" , I was really amused by Oprah Winfrey's self-esteem of her popularity and her political naivety. Oprah Winfrey is overrating her charisma. The leadership of America is more than a TV Talk Show and Campaign 2008 is not a Black versus White battle of wits. From most of the comments online, Oprah Winfrey is not a big plus to Barack Obama. In fact, Obama would likely lose more voters who are not fans of Oprah Winfrey. Lest we forget, Oprah Winfrey once misled millions of Americans into buying a fake book! Americans now are wiser.

Political Analysis of the CNN Las Vegas Democrats Presidential Debate

Hillary Clinton Wins in CNN Las Vegas Debate

Dear Orikinla, Did you watch the debate last night? When there was the most at stake, Hillary put on her best performance. She was prepared, firm, and 100 percent ready to lead America. It was obvious to everyone watching: Hillary will be a president we can be proud of every day. But you don't have to take my word for it; you can watch Hillary for yourself. We've collected some of her best moments in one place on our website: Las Vegas Debate And I know that she would want me to tell you what a difference you are making for her. When I told her before the debate that you beat the remarkable goal of raising $1 million in just a few days, she told me that she was so proud to have you standing with her. We're achieving so much together. Thank you for all you do to help Hillary make history. Sincerely, Patti Solis Doyle Campaign Manager Hillary for President CONTRIBUTE NOW FOR THE ELECTION OF SENATOR HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON AS THE FIRST FEMALE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF...

Bill Clinton:Glenda, Clare, and David

Dear Orikinla, I have a new favorite way to watch presidential debates. I don't miss a single one with Hillary in it, of course. There's so much at stake that I'm always glued to the screen. But this last one was my favorite yet, thanks to Glenda, Clare, and David, the winners of the campaign's debate watch contest. It was a great setting -- just a few of us sitting down on a couch, watching the debate, cheering for Hillary, and talking about what was unfolding on the TV. I love talking to Hillary's supporters, and it's even better when we're watching her on that stage. We talked about their lives, too -- and about why they're supporting Hillary for president. After the debate, I got a call from Hillary (we often talk right after they're over), and she talked to Glenda, Clare, and David, too. (I had to pull the phone away from David because the two of them were reminiscing about Park Ridge, Illinois, where Hillary grew up!) It was a great evening, an...
