Black Sistas Wedding Blues in America

Image
Dear Single Black Sistas, You Have To Settle For Mr. Available The collapse of marriage among blacks is well documented (see chart), but not the sexual, psychological, emotional and social toll this has taken on black women. Seven out of ten are single. Of the others, many are forced into “man-sharing” . ~ From Unmarried black women, Down or out : A black male professor kicks up a storm about black women and marriage. According to his new book Is Marriage for White People? How the African-American Marriage Decline Affects Everyone , Ralph Richard Banks, the Stanford professor of family law says the crisis in the black “relationship market” starts with a “man shortage”. About one in ten black men in their early thirties are in prison. As a group, black men have also fallen behind in education and income, just as black women have surged ahead. Two black women graduate from college for every black man. As these women rise into the middle class, the men stay in the lower class, becoming le...

There was a Country: A Personal History of Biafra by Chinua Achebe

Chinua Achebe There was a Country: A Personal History of Biafra by Chinua Achebe The news of the much awaited Chinua Achebe ’s magnum opus on the Nigerian civil war of 1967 to 1970 really excited me in the midst of the mourning for the passing of Ikemba Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojuwku, the heroic and symbolic secessionist leader of Biafra , the raison d'être of that catastrophic uncivil war that claimed over a million lives of mostly helpless children who died from kwashiorkor caused by starvation which was used as a weapon of war by the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The late warlord himself promised to write his own authentic book on his leadership of the ill-fated Biafra, but till his death on Saturday November 26, 2011, there was no information on the fulfillment of his promise. Achebe’s Biafran war memoir would have been the kind of book Ojukwu should have written, but was either reluctant to do so or lacked the genius. Because the only published account of his historical role in t...

The Darwinian Delusion 25 Nov 2011 14:45 Africa/Lagos Darwinism Is a Delusion, According to New Book Author rebuts The God Delusion by evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins PR Newswire TORONTO, Nov. 25, 2011 TORONTO, Nov. 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- In the 2006 best-selling non-fiction book The God Delusion, author Richard Dawkins wrongly advocates the belief that God almost certainly does not exist and those who do believe this are deluding themselves. The delusion, says author Michael Ebifegha, is within the scientific community and revolves around the Darwinian paradigm of evolution as a preferred philosophical choice. In his book, The Darwinian Delusion (published by AuthorHouse), Ebifegha provides the most detailed rebuttal to Dawkins' book both scientifically and philosophically. Dawkins' objective is to promote atheism through science while the objective of Ebifegha is to exonerate Albert Einstein's assertion, "Science without religion is lame; religion withou...

The Book Muammar Gaddafi Should Have Read Before His End

Image
There is a book that even atheists are scared of reading. If only Muammar Gaddafi had read it before he was killed. The gripping Scientists Discover Hell: As Astronauts Find Heaven is a frightening book to read, even for atheists. I have read it and ordered and sent over 40 copies from Amazon to several people, including the leading Christian ministers in Nigeria and the United States. I gave a copy to Pastor E.A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG). Muammar Gaddafi failed to read it and can never read it again. But if you can read this post, then don't fail to read this book before it is too late. Click here for more details . Tweet
