25 Jan 2008 01:13 Africa/Lagos Latino Officials Deliver Wake-Up Call CHICAGO, Jan. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- An Illinois Coalition of Latino Elected Officials today called on liberal Democratic colleagues to endorse qualified Hispanic candidates or not expect their support in return. Calls were made today by a majority of Latino elected officials representing Illinois, Cook County and Chicago political districts. "Hopefully, this will be a wake-up call for non-minority liberal Democrats," said Alderman/ Committeeman Manuel Flores, 1st Ward. "Unless they are willing to endorse qualified Latino candidates, they should not expect to seek our support for their candidacies in their wards and districts."
