Re: Toni Morrison Endorses Barack Obama

Toni Morrison, African American Nobel Laureate in Literature "Black people have always been used as a buffer in this country between powers to prevent class war." ~ Toni Morrison Dear Toni Morrison, The fundamental existence of the African American can only be defined by the African American experience from generation to generation and not by political stump speeches without substance and without experience. The only difference between Senator Barack Obama and former Senator John Edwards is the color of their skin. Have you read the letter Martin Luther King, III , sent to Hon. John Edwards? The brilliant recitation of paraphrased quotes is not the evidence of intelligence or wisdom, but the clever display of the gift of the gab. "Politicians of the new generation are carefully coached by their spin doctors to produce on-demand sound bites which are clear and to the point." ~ Wikipedia I know that you know nothing more about Barack Obama than his well rehearsed and ...

Between Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton and Senator Barack Obama

Barack in 1990 and Hillary in 1969. (Photo: Steve Liss/Time Life Pictures/Getty Images; Everett Collection) I have said it and more intelligent people have written on the same matter. Lee [from the November 19, 2007 issue] With little scrutiny from Democrats in Congress and nary a whimper of protest from the liberal establishment, the United States will soon establish permanent military bases in sub-Saharan Africa. An alarming step forward in the militarization of the African continent, the US Africa Command (Africom) will oversee all US military and security interests throughout the region, excluding Egypt. Africom is set to launch by September 2008 and the Senate recently confirmed Gen. William "Kip" Ward as its first commander. General Ward told the Senate Armed Services Committee that Africom would first seek "African solutions to African problems." His testimony made Africom sound like a magnanimous effort for the good of the African people. In truth Africom is a dangerous continuation of US military expansion around the globe. Such foreign-policy priorities, as well as the use of weapons of ...
