William F. Buckley, Jr. 27 Feb 2008 20:46 Africa/Lagos Newt Gingrich Statement on the Passing of William F. Buckley, Jr . WASHINGTON, Feb. 27 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Before there was Goldwater or Reagan, there was Bill Buckley. From writing books, to creating, leading and sustaining National Review Magazine, to his 33-year run as the host of Firing Line on television, Bill Buckley became the indispensable intellectual advocate from whose energy, intelligence, wit, and enthusiasm the best of modern conservatism drew its inspiration and encouragement. It was not until William F. Buckley, Jr., founded National Review Magazine in 1955 that the tide began to slowly turn for conservatives. National Review was a lonely voice of conservatism in an overwhelmingly liberal establishment. Buckley began what led to Senator Barry Goldwater and his Conscience of a Conservative that led to the seizing of power by the conservatives from the moderate establishment within the Republican Party. From t...

Attention: The State Editorial Board Re: The State editorial board's Democratic Presidential Primary Endorsement of Senator Barack Obama Senator Barack Obama May I disagree with your endorsement of Senator Barack Obama for the South Carolina Democratic Primary, because Senator Barack Obama is not the Democrat most likely to unify America. If you are really honest and transparent in your editorial board’s decision, you would have endorsed former Senator John Edwards, who is indeed the most likely Democrat to unite the United States of America across social and political dichotomies. You failed to address the questionable statesmanship of Senator Barack Obama. Barack Obama has been economical with the facts of his life, and untruthful as the following references confirm. 1. Obama and Rezko have been friends since 1990, and the Wilmette businessman has raised as much as $60,000 in campaign contributions for him. ~ Sun Times 2. Shipjack wrote a comprehensive article posted on the Dail...

"For many of us the golden rule calls on us to act." ~ Hillary Rodham Clinton Dear Anonymous and the Barack Obama Fan Club, You are for Barack Obama and I am for Hillary Clinton. I have no apologies or regrets for supporting Hillary Clinton for President and as you can see, we are winning. The great living legend of African American poetry, Ma Maya Angelou , consummate music genius Quincy Jones the "Dude", Earvin "Magic" Johnson, rapper 50 cent, the majority of the certified African American ministers supporting Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton for President are right there in God's own country and if they believe that she has it more than Senator Barack Hussein Obama, then I am in the right direction in my total support for her. "What I [saw] in her was clearly a very good searching and clear mind. She was already a little brain child, a budding intellectual, I would say. So her interest in my ministry and my version of the gospel and the Christia...

The Political Ignorance of Those Attacking Hillary Clinton

I have doubts about the political education of those attacking Hillary Clinton in replies to serious issues. It would be better if readers take time to read and study the political biography of Hillary Clinton, who has been active in the democratic development of America since the 1960s and that was long before she met Bill Clinton. When Oprah Winfrey was name dropping Martin Luther King, Jr., in South Carolina, I laughed at her ignorance of the life history of Hillary Clinton, because Hillary Clinton is more qualified to speak on the Civil Rights Movement than both Oprah Winfrey and Barack Obama. It would be really foolish to nominate Barack Obama as the presidential candidate of the Democrats, because he would be a walk over for the Republicans. Look at Obama's record as a senator and compare his performance so far to that of Hillary Clinton. Look at the political facts and not indulging in petty personalities. Barack Obama has a shallow knowledge of foreign policy and making noi...
