A recent Newsweek poll, however, suggests that although he is poised to secure the Democratic nomination, Obama is still facing problems winning over white voters. In the June 2 Newsweek cover package "Obama, Race and Us" (on newsstands Monday, May 26) a team of Newsweek correspondents offer an open memo to Obama, with suggestions on how he can overcome race issues and convince doubters, of all skin colors or backgrounds, that they will be better off during an Obama presidency than a McCain presidency. Re: Obama's Struggle With Typical Liberal Hypocrisy

This is my comment on John Ridley 's Obama's Struggle With Typical Liberal Hypocrisy Political hypocrisy plagues American democracy. Barack Obama cannot please everybody. If Obama fails to win the nomination and the presidential election, the so-called American Liberals will be the Judas of his betrayal. What has made Barack Obama so successful so far is not his animated amplification of the politiical sound bites of his political spin doctors, but the big budget of his sponsors who used their mainstream media and proxies in the social network sites to launch their vicious campaign of calumny against the Clintons and maligned them so badly that they have done more harm than good to the Democratic Party in the long run of the presidential campaign. If the Clintons and their millions of supporters turn against Barack Obama and his sponsors in the presidential election, do not blame the Clintons. Most of those endorsing Barack Obama are doing so to spite the Clintons and have not ...

ENPR: Racial Divide Guarantees Obama Nomination

ENPR: Racial Divide Guarantees Obama Nomination by Robert Novak and Timothy P. Carney (more by this author) Posted 05/07/2008 ETUpdated 05/07/2008 ET Outlook In the wake of Sen. Hillary Clinton's dismal performance Tuesday, pressure will mount on her to get out of the Democratic presidential race against Sen. Barack Obama. She and her inner circle are determined to stay in, but since there is no way she can be nominated, don't be surprised if she gets out before the primaries end in June. Clinton needed a strong showing Tuesday in order to make a convincing pitch to super-delegates. Now her arguments to the super-delegates will go down two paths: a) The national polls that have shown Clinton running better than Obama against Sen. John McCain (though those surveys are sure to look different soon); or b) Clinton operative Harold Ickes is repeating his campaign's familiar refrain: We don't know enough about Obama, and Republicans will take dead aim against him in the gen...

Re: Oprah Winfrey, Bill Clinton Bring Star Power to Iowa

When I read the report on "Oprah Winfrey, Bill Clinton Bring Star Power to Iowa" , I was really amused by Oprah Winfrey's self-esteem of her popularity and her political naivety. Oprah Winfrey is overrating her charisma. The leadership of America is more than a TV Talk Show and Campaign 2008 is not a Black versus White battle of wits. From most of the comments online, Oprah Winfrey is not a big plus to Barack Obama. In fact, Obama would likely lose more voters who are not fans of Oprah Winfrey. Lest we forget, Oprah Winfrey once misled millions of Americans into buying a fake book! Americans now are wiser.

World Exclusive: NEWSWEEK Cover: Black & White on Barack Obama

In the July 16 Newsweek cover "Black & White" (on newsstands Monday, July 9), Senior White House Correspondent Richard Wolffe and Correspondent Daren Briscoe report on whether Illinois Senator Barack Obama, who wants to be the nation's first black president, can appeal to both black and white, while still being true to himself. Obama faces many challenges in what he calls his "improbable candidacy," but few are as complex or emotional as the politics of race. World Exclusive: NEWSWEEK Cover: Black & White on Barack Obama
