Eucharia Remmy Beautiful Eucharia Remmy, a young member of the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) serving in Yobe was among the over 150 people murdered by the Boko Haram terrorist sect last Friday in Damaturu, Yobe State. The Enugu-State born Eucharia was a 2010 graduate of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) and a happy member of Christ Embassy Church in Damaturu, for which she was sharing Rhapsodies of Reality booklet along the New Jerusalem Rd when she was hit and killed by one of the marauders of Boko Haram. Eucharia was the sister of Mary Remmy, a promising Nollywood actress who played a prominent role in the popular hit movie Black Berry Babes, starring Oge Okoye, Tonto Dikeh, Annie Macaulay and others. Bloody Eid al-Adha in Nigeria with over 150 Killed in Terrorist Attacks It is the bloodiest Eid al-Adha for Nigerian Muslims as the Islamic terrorist sect Boko Haram launched devastating attacks from Friday night to Saturday and killed over 150 people in Damaturu, the capital of Yobe state. The attacks heralded the Eid al-Adha, the Muslims feast of sacrifice. The terrorist sect blew up a housing estate, a bank, three police stations and five churches, including the St Mary's Catholic Church. The Boko Haram swore that "more attacks are on the way". "We will continue attacking federal government formations until security forces stop their excesses on our members and vulnerable civilians," said Abul-Qaqa, the spokesman of the terrorists. USADF Grant Targets Business Expansion for Leather Workers in Northern Nigeria

14 Jul 2011 18:15 Africa/Lagos The United States African Development Foundation (USADF) Grant Targets Business Expansion for Leather Workers in Northern Nigeria WASHINGTON, July 14, 2011/African Press Organization (APO)/ -- The United States African Development Foundation (USADF) signed an Enterprise Expansion Grant to benefit almost 100 small scale leather workers in Nigeria's northern Kaduna State. This is USADF's second grant to the Zaria Leather Workers Cooperative Society (ZLWCS). Nigeria is one of 21 sub-Saharan countries where USADF promotes economic development for Africans to develop profitable businesses at the community level. USADF President Lloyd Pierson stated, “USADF's vision is to help grantees earn higher revenues for homegrown African-led and managed businesses, such as ZLWCS. 200 Killed as Religious Riots Spread in Northern Nigeria

Over 200 people have been killed as bloody religious riots continued in Nigeria's Plateau state, as of Tuesday. Local and foreign journalists in Nigeria and abroad have failed to report the facts on the reoccurrence of religious riots in Jos. Many reports said that the violence started after an argument over the rebuilding of homes destroyed in the 2008 clashes, but eyewitness accounts confirmed that fringe elements in the Muslim community attacked the St. Michael's Anglican Church in downtown Jos Sunday morning. The church was set ablaze with worshippers trapped inside. The aggrieved Christians rose up in self defence. The indigenous Berom have gone on rampage in retaliation. The police have declared a 24-hour curfew after a dusk to dawn curfew on Monday failed to stem the spread of the clashes as gangs of irate Muslims mobilized at midnight before resuming attacks on Christians in the early hours of Tuesday.
