USA Today Names Glo #1

Glo Bible given top spot by USA Today in "The 10 coolest book apps for Fall"

ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Glo, the first-of its-kind media-rich interactive Bible, has been featured in USA Today as the #1 Coolest iPad Book App for the Fall.

The Glo Bible, which USA Today described as: "one of the most impressive book apps available," was featured alongside other top book apps, including Jacqueline Kennedy: Historic Conversations on Life With John F. Kennedy, David's Diary by David Sedaris, and Speakeasy Cocktails, an interactive cocktail making guide.

"Our team is honored to receive this endorsement by USA Today and is thrilled to have been selected as the top pick on the list," said Nelson Saba, CEO of Immersion Digital. "It reaffirms our belief that rich media integrated with text enhances the understanding and engagement of the reader by combining the more analytical reading process with related immersive media experiences."

The free Glo Bible App was launched earlier this year, featuring zoom technology and an intuitive touch interface to present a rich interactive database of historic as well as contemporary information including photos, video, maps, artwork, 360-degree virtual tours and more.

"Zondervan is privileged to partner with Immersion Digital on the incredibly innovative yet easy to use Glo Bible app," said Chip Brown, senior vice president and publisher of Bibles for leading Christian publisher Zondervan, which distributes the Glo Bible. "Consumer reaction to both the packaged product and the App has been phenomenal and helps Zondervan advance our mission to increase Bible engagement."

Saba continued: "Zondervan has been a great partner of ours and we believe the fact that Glo features the bestselling NIV translation, which is the dominant preferred translation choice of consumers, has contributed to its success."

The most recent update by Glo Bible brings iPad and iPhone users access to the Glo Atlas lens, which links geographic locations directly to Bible verses, articles and Glo media over a zoomable atlas. Tapping on locations reveals photos, 360-degree virtual tours, artwork and scripture related to the location of choice. The Atlas can be explored by zooming and panning, or when reading Bible passages, users can send a verse to the Atlas Lens to see locations related to that verse. The Atlas also includes eight samples of maps (from the 140 maps available in Glo Premium) that give context to Bible stories or time periods. This update is free for all iPad, iPhone and iPod touch Glo users, including Free Glo Lite and Glo Premium users. This release marks the first time the Glo Atlas Lens has been available outside the PC and Mac versions of Glo Premium.
