A Question for the Nigerian Politician Alleged To Have Instigated the Murder of More than 55 People
An Open Question for Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, the Gubernatorial Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Rivers State in the Niger Delta of Nigeria.
If you are sure that more people love you enough to vote for you, would you need guns, machetes and thugs to attack and murder supporters of your rival opponent? - See more at: http://www.nigeriansreport.com/2015/04/an-open-question-for-ezenwo-nyesom-wike.html#sthash.QS4PFVfc.dpuf.
When we ignore a massacre, we are encouraging a genocide.
When we ignore the impunity of political tyranny, we are guilty of failing to protest against man's inhumanity to man. And by our failure, we are as guilty as those aiding and abetting the crimes against humanity from Darfur to the Congo and from the Congo to the Niger Delta and from the Niger Delta to north eastern Nigeria.
A massacre is an indiscriminate and brutal slaughter of many people. And killing more than 55 people is a massacre! And that is what happened in Rivers State during the 2015 general elections in Nigeria from March to April. But, the Nigerian government is living in denial of it, because the perpetrators of this horrible massacre are members and supporters of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the victims were members and supporters of the rival All Progressives Congress (APC).
All the horrifying and terrifying genocides in history started with a massacre.
That was how the catastrophic Armenian Genocide, Darfur Genocide and Rwanda Genocide started.
When we ignore a massacre, we have become accomplices of the perpetrators.
Do we have to wait until the massacre continues and becomes another genocide like the Rwanda Genocide that claimed 500,000–1,000,000 lives from April 7 – July 15, 1994, before our very eyes?
It is the desperate evil greed for power that turned Hitler into a monster and caused the World War II that claimed more than 60 million lives!
