Abderrahmane Sissako's "Timbuktu" Nominated for 19th Annual Satellite™ Awards for Motion Pictures


French-Mauritanian Abderrahmane Sissako's highly acclaimed film "Timbuktu" is among the international nominees for the 19th Annual Satellite Awards for Motion Pictures.
Timbuktu competed for the Palme d'Or at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival and won the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury and the François Chalais Prize.
The film has been selected as Mauritania's entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 87th Academy Awards coming up on February 22, 2015, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles.
