The home video became one of the most bestselling movies in Nigeria and made her a household name long before the emergence of Omotola Jolade-Ekeinde and Genevieve Nnaji, the current most celebrated queens of Nollywood.
“Nneka the Pretty Serpent” was about a mermaid in human form, who loved seducing and possessing married men and destroyed anyone or anything in her way.
Ndidi Obi was born in Lagos, but her parents came from Enugu state of Eastern Nigeria. She studied Banking and Finance at the University of Lagos and very fluent in English, Yoruba and her native Igbo language.
