The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra(MASSOB)has ordered all traders and workers in South Eastern Nigeria to close their shops and offices today. The MASSOB has declared today "NO WORK DAY IN BIAFRA".

The news got to me yesterday and I have tried to confirm it from their web site, but there is nothing on such a directive. No Press Release. The news reached Bonny Island by word of mouth from Port Harcourt in Rivers State and the people in Port Harcourt informed me that only the native Ibo speaking states will likely comply with the directive of MASSOB.

I have had on line discussions with some leading members of MASSOB and I told them that they are not well organised and having radio station, web sites and other forms of mass media does not mean they are well organised. Because, emotional ratiocination will not be enough to address the goals and objectives of their mission. The majority of Ibos would rather be Nigerians than be Biafrans.
Even, most of the Ibos supporting Biafra cannot do without their Nigerian passport.

The best way to demonstrate their faith in Biafra is to withdraw their Nigerian citizenship and return their Nigerian passports to the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

You cannot claim Biafra while carrying a Nigerian ID or Passport as all the so called "Biafrans" are currently doing.

MASSOB should stop kicking against their balls.

The problem with Nigeria is not tribalism, but kleptocracy.
Let us join hands to destroy kleptocracy and Nigeria will be the pride of all Nigerians and other Africans.

One God and One Nation Nigeria under the sun.

That romantic Biafran flag belongs to the Nigerian Civil War museum.

Great site. Thanks for visiting mine. It is always good to learn something about another country from someone who is there than hearing about it on our so-called news. Keep up the good work!

Biafra had a cause in the 60s but that cause no longer exists. Sometimes I wonder who Biafra is. Is it the Igbos or does it also include those from Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Rivers and Bayelsa.

The Igbos are scattered all over Nigeria running busineeses and comapines. If a state of Biafra were to be declared, what will be their fate.

This illusion must stop. Separatits cannot be allowed to win. There isn't only a need for a strong Nigeria but for a strong West Africa as well. Bonsai nation states have no place in the modern and fast changing world. Biafra will be such a state.

I blame the present political rulers for all the separatist rubbish in Nigeria.

They have failed to promote the political education of the ignorant and gullible majority, because they deliberately want to hoodwink the masses and continue to use their political chicanery to deceive them and swindle them.

The Federal Government of Nigeria must counteract all acts of rebellion from the grassroots and the only way that could be done is by addressing the deprivations of the poor majority all over Nigeria.

Massob is being run by a bunch of illitrate people who have only got their selfish goals to loot the place once they are given the opportunity to do so.

I am Igbo and I support a one Nigeria with educated, credible leaders who can come from any part of the country.

Mr Anonymous, you call massob members illiterates and what are you? unilliterate. The wind is blowing and soon those illiterates will emerge literate and lucid. Massob and Biafran cause is well and alive. It's just a matter of time. Mind you it's been 35 years after the war, but the clamour is coming from beyond the Igbo region. Even former saboteurs and enemies are claomouring. You cannot stop the tide of change.

Joker personified, you pseudo- apologetic-nincompoopious Nigerian oligarchist, grow up and open your eyes! writer! What do you call yourself? Orikinla Osinachi? Your mother, that Yoruba tribalist must have well brought you up in the normal, igbo-hating, igbo-despising, 'nothing-good-from-the-Igbos' mental attitude and jealousy, and stuffed you with usual. I used to be a detribalised person until I severally saw hell in the hands of so called yoruba friend countless times..they can and will stab you in the back anytime..speak their language even when the know you don't understand them, and hate when you speak yours in return.. parapo is their names when it comes to dealing with an Igbo (HEBREW) man of which I am proud to be! Sellouts most if not all of them! It's in their blood!
