From Cotton Pickers To Business Power Brokers

Black-Owned Businesses Grow at High Rate is the headline of the Washington Post feature on the outstanding progress report of the remarkable and laudable achievements of Black entrepreneurs as their businesses are growing by leaps and bounds with a 45 percent increase between 1997 and 2002.

This is wonderful news from the same people whose forefathers were cotton pickers in the darkest period of American history when blacks were slaves and treated like domestic animals in the South.

"I'm proud," said Harry Alford, president and CEO of the National Black Chamber of Commerce. "We're the fastest-growing segment."

Washington Post

May I say congratulations to the Washington Post for winning 4 Pulitzer Prizes in the highly competitive categories of Explanatory Journalism, Criticism, Investigative Journalism and Beat Reporting. I bet they are popping champagne corks now.

Then the good news for the ruling kleptocrats in Nigeria as Investors Push Oil Over $70 A Barrel. But when you see the wretched of the earth in oil rich Nigeria, you wonder where all the billions of dollars from our oil have gone?
Into the private accounts of the crooks and rogues in government in Nigeria who have been looting our treasury since 1956 to date. And they have passed the stolen loot to their children. The misappropriation of revenue allocations in every state in Nigeria is no longer news.

I wish that title was anywhere near the truth. In fact however, black businesses make up a very very small portion of the US GDP. you can see my post on this matter from:

Keshi.
Sondjata,
Since you are more at home on this subject, I have to read your analysis of the Washington Post Report.

Keshi,
If God approves it and permits me, I will lead a total revolution to overthrow the corrupt rulers in Nigeria and eradicate their kleptocracy. And I will spare no one found gulity.

God bless.
